Furlough
Since my last update, I have now completed driving over 9,000 miles and praise the Lord for no vehicle issues. I have had some wonderful meetings and conferences in Alabama and Virginia. What a blessing it has been to meet so many new friends and prayer partners. Each church family has shown what true Christian fellowship is within the body of Christ. I have been able to do the following:
*teach in many children’s classes
*teach Sunday School for ladies
*share in Awana at my home church
*present the ministry in services/conferences
*pass out tracts and talk to many people about the Lord
Medical Class
I would appreciate prayer specifically during March 29-April 9th. During this time, I will be in North Carolina taking a two week medical class designed for missionaries in third world countries. This class will help prepare me to be better used in the day to day care of the orphans at Soroti Orphan Assistance Project. I have previously had some opportunities to put my non-existent nursing skills to use while the need arose. I am excited about this challenging time to grow in knowledge and understanding so that I can use my abilities to do all that I can do to further the cause of Christ in Uganda.
Arrival in Uganda
This past week I have been able to prepare for my return trip to Uganda. . . visiting the police station for a criminal record (I have none!!), yellow fever and typhoid shots, new passport as I will have to begin the renewal process for my work permit in June (another HUGE matter of prayer!!). The Lord has been good to provide the necessary funds through many of you and time to make necessary appointments. I have only three more conferences before I return May 18th. Please pray the Lord would continue to use me in a mighty way as I share what He has done in my life.
I was surprised about two weeks ago to get a call from Uganda! I was able to talk to almost all of the orphans! Many said, “Madam, come back soon!!” I truly cannot wait to see how much the children have grown physically, but also (and most importantly) spiritually. So many of you have selflessly given to the orphans and ministry. . . Bibles, Bible stories, clothes, medicine. . . I can’t thank you enough!! I pray that all items received would be used to the honor and glory of the Lord for years and years to come.
Thank you for being a vital part of all that goes on in Uganda. You are a blessing to so many. May God bless.
