I must begin this letter with an apology. Time swiftly passed by before I realized that I needed to send my prayer letter. I am typing this letter from the states. I left Uganda the latter part of Jun as stated in my Mar-Apr prayer letter. I am due to return 23 Aug to arrive Uganda 25 Aug. If you would, pray for safety while traveling in the states as well as flying back to Uganda.
URGENT PRAYER REQUEST – It has been brought to my attention from reading my
assistant director’s prayer request that Miss. Kristine McLaughlin had a very
bad accident while in the states and preparing to go to the Ivory Coast. Her neck was broken in the accident; however,
God was gracious in the fact that she is not paralyzed, but will be in a brace
for months to come. (Jul)
Miss. Teddy - She was released early from
prison, late Apr or early May, and she returned to church her first Sunday
after she was released. It was somewhat
funny, I guess, because I had just finished praying for her release that Sunday
morning when she walked through the door for Sunday school. All were glad to see her.
The Prison Ministry – There is still hope. When I return, I will try again to talk with
the new OIC about speaking with the ladies there. If you remember, I spoke with him while visiting
with Miss. Teddy, and he wanted me to assure him I could give the ladies a job
or some type of rehabilitation work once they are released. But, this is not possible at this time. If God has closed this door then I must fine
another avenue to reach these women.
St. Pius Vocational Institute – I have been visiting this
school on Monday morning at 0730 telling them about Jesus. Before I left in Jun the Director, Simon
George, asked if I would be interested in visiting there a second time during
the week as well. Of course, I will, for
this gives me even more of an opportunity to tell young people about the Lord
as well as give them an opportunity to ask questions where as in the morning
session there is not much time for questions.
When I return we will work out the day and time.
Also,
concerning the roof that was blown away during the storm in Apr, they are in
the process of replacing the roof. God has provided funds for this task.
Answered Prayer – Jeremy Pittman and family have
arrived back in Uganda safely!
Soroti Church Ugandan Ladies – Pray for Beatrice and
Christine who are leading the Sunday school class for me while I am away that
God is and will continue to use them in a mighty way as they teach their own
people the Word of God.
Also, pray
for Janet, 17, who is leading the Teen Girls’ Class while I am away.
My next
prayer letter will be emailed in Sep once I am back safely in Uganda, Lord
willing.
